Can I still register for HM09?
For the first time in the Society’s history and with a record
number of registrants, Hospital Medicine 2009 main meeting registration
is SOLD OUT! While main meeting registration is closed, it will remain
open for our highly specialized Pre-Courses that cater directly to the
specific needs of hospitalists.
When is Hospital Medicine 2009 (SHM's Annual Meeting)?
Hospital Medicine 2009 will be held on Friday, May 15 - Sunday, May 17,
2009.

Where is Hospital Medicine 2009?
Hospital Medicine 2009 will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in
Downtown Chicago, just 12 miles from the Chicago Midway Airport (MDW)
and 18 miles from the Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). The

How do I book my hotel reservations?
The Hyatt Regency Chicago is the official headquarters hotel for
Hospital Medicine 2009. Reservations can be made by calling (888)
421-1442 and referring to the Society of Hospital Medicine's room block
or online at www.hospitalmedicine.org/annualmeetinghotel.
Discounted rates are available for reservations made on or before
April 13, 2009 at $203 (single/double plus tax). After April 13th,
reservations will be confirmed on a space-available basis, at the
prevailing rack rate.
I am a faculty member; how do I make my hotel and travel
arrangements?

What transportation is available to/from the airport?
Approximate cost for a taxi from Midway Airport to the hotel is $35 -
$40 and from Chicago O'Hare is $40.00. Airport Express also offers
shuttle service from Midway Airport for approximately $23 (one way) or
$37 (round trip) or from Chicago O'Hare for approximately $28 (one way)
or $49 (round trip). Reservations can be made in advance on their
website at www.airportexpress.com or by calling 888-284-3826.

What is the best way to plan my Hospital Medicine 2009 experience?
Will I be given a syllabus with copies of the speaker's slides on
site?
Syllabus materials will be provided on site for all pre-courses.
Materials for the May 15-17, 2009 sessions are available to you prior to
arriving on-site for Hospital Medicine 2009. We strongly encourage you
to print the materials for the sessions you choose to attend prior to
your arrival. In addition, please be sure to review the new flow
schedule so you can maximize your experience at the meeting and attend
the sessions that interest you most.

The exhibit hall will be open to attendees on May 15 & 16, 2009.

What is the early registration date?
Attendees who register by April 5, 2009 will receive discounted
registration for the pre-courses and Annual Meeting.
