Self-Evaluation Resources
For Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine:

self-evaluation within the last 10 years
- You must have completed 20 points in self-evaluation of
medical knowledge and 40 points in self-evaluation of practice
performance in the last three years
- Your remaining points can be completed as a combination of
self-evaluation of medical knowledge and self-evaluation of practice

Self-Evaluation of Medical
Knowledge
MOC points may be earned for medical knowledge by completing
open-book modules testing clinical and practical knowledge in a
particular field. Each module allows you to perform a diagnostic
self-assessment of your strengths and weaknesses in a particular medical
knowledge area. You can earn 10 or 20 points per module.
Self-Evaluation of Practice
Performance
MOC points may be earned for practice performance by completing
modules that focus on improving your practice.
SHM's mentored implementation programs- BOOST, GCMI and VTE-PC- are
now approved through ABIM for 20 points towards the Self-Evaluation of
