The Hospital Staff of Tomorrow Starts Here
Program Overview
Hospital-Focused Practice is the First National Meeting about the
adoption of a hospital-focused (hospitalist) model of practice by many
medical specialties, such as neurology, obstetrics, general surgery and
others. This will be a Meeting of Key Leaders of the Hospital of the
Future.
Over the course of one day this meeting will:
- Promote networking of people interested in the hospitalist model
in various specialties
- Disseminate current expert information that is known about the
hospital-focused (hospitalist) model of practice in many specialties and
identify key issues and questions needing further research
- Provide opportunity for healthcare policymakers, leaders of
specialty societies, researchers, educators, malpractice carriers,
management companies, physician recruiters and others to learn the
latest information in this field
Objectives
After attending this meeting participants will be able to:
- Understand current expert information that is known about
these new innovative practice models and identify key issues and
questions needing further research
- Understand how the evolution of the new medical staff can
lead to improved performance and greater patient safety
- Utilize the new concepts provided in this meeting to
implement change at their own institutions
- Develop strategic responses in their communities to utilize
the changes in hospital-based practice as their hospitals grapple
with issues of payment reform, need for performance improvement,
and better reporting of clinical results
