Course Overview

SHM is collaborating with ABIM to offer hospitalists an opportunity to participate in Maintenance of Certification Courses. In an interactive group session, this Course will provide ABIM-certified physicians with the opportunity to earn 20 points toward the Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge requirement of the Maintenance of Certification program. Two modules will be presented: Internal Medicine - Office Based and Internal Medicine - Hospital Based. Don't wait until your last year of certification to earn these important points.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Analyze the questions and through group discussion, determine the correct answer for ABIM's office-based and hospital-based internal medicine modules.
• Complete two Self-Evaluation of Medical Knowledge modules and earn points toward ABIM's MOC requirements.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM). The ACP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing education for physicians.

The American College of Physicians designates the educational activity for a maximum number for each course of category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician Recognition Award as follows: ABIM MOC Learning Session for 6 credits. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in each educational activity.
