This reference guide lists some of the common medications that should be used with caution, avoided, or monitored closely in patients with systolic heart failure. This guide can serve as a reminder to the practicing hospitalist of the potential common or serious adverse drug reactions seen with a number of classes of medications which should either preclude their use or trigger anticipatory and close monitoring of the patient for potential serious adverse drug effects.
