The Specifications Manual for National Hospital Quality which can be accessed on The Joint Commissions website is the collaborative work of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and The Joint Commission. The specifications manual provides quick access to the hospital quality measures and tools to help promote and support both organizations common core measures.
Hospital Compare, a website created by the United States Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), along with the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA), provides data submitted by hospitals in regards to process of care measures for heart attach, heart failure, pneumonia, or patients having surgery. This site allows healthcare providers to identify areas for quality improvement. It also shows 30-day Risk Adjusted Death (Mortality) Rates for patients with Medicare who were admitted to the hospital for heart attack and heart failure.
