The US Administration on Aging has dedicated a portion of their site to providing information for the older adult and caregivers on issues that affect them as well as opportunities available to them for assistance.

Offers publications and links to organizations for the older adult.

Family Doctor.org Presented by the American Academy of Family Physicians
Contains health information for the “whole family” including a section specifically for seniors with information on common conditions that affect the older adult population.

American Geriatric Society (AGS)
The American Geriatric Society has devoted a section of their website (www.americangeriatrics.org) to public education. The site offers links to other health organizations for the older adult, information on public policy and informational resources such as tip sheets around specific diseases and conditions that affect older adults and specific questions around diseases and conditions that the older adult or caregiver should use when having a conversation with their healthcare provider.

National Alliance for Caregiving
The National Alliance for Caregiving provides resources and publications for caregivers on their website (www.caregiving.org). One publication on their site is a brochure specifically geared towards helping the caregiver through the hospital discharge process.

Family Caregivers Online
Family Caregivers Online (www.familycaregiversonline.com) provides health education, training and information resources for caregivers of older adults. Notable resources include factsheets (available in Spanish and English) and online education modules.

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Your Guide to Coumadin®/Warfarin Therapy
AHRQ has made available consumer versions of clinical practice guidelines. The Your Guide to Coumadin®/Warfarin Therapy provides information on what to expect and what to be cautious of during therapy.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)
ASHP has developed www.safemedications.com to provide patients and caregivers with information on over 800 drugs.
