Members of SHM can join the QI Special Interest Group. This group aims to create and maintain a community that promotes quality improvement by connecting QI enthusiasts in hospital medicine to each other and the resources necessary to develop and hone QI skills.

As described in the webinar, we are currently seeking applicants to serve on the executive council of the QI Special Interest Group. We invite you to self-nominate for one of the detailed positions in the QI SIG charter or to propose a different position and roll based on a vision on how the QI SIG Executive Council can best achieve its mission. Applicants to join the executive council should have an interest in quality and performance improvement but prior experience is not required.

Sign up for SHM's QI Coaching Pilot Program

Interested hospitalists will be paired with an experienced volunteer coach with relevant QI expertise. QI coach and mentee pairs will work out the details of their engagement by adapting a general model to their specific needs. The program will provide the necessary documents to help mentees plan and implement their projects; QI coaches can help fill them out as needed. This program is at no cost to participants.
