Hospital Medicine Certification

Overview

Recertify with the program that best reflects your day-to-day practice.

Internal medicine, family medicine and pediatrics are broad spectrums covering many different practice areas; as a hospitalist in one of these specialties, you now have the option to choose a recertification program that focuses solely on the medical knowledge necessary for your niche practice.

The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) offer programs for their Board Certified physicians, recognizing the unique and specialized knowledge, skills and attitudes of hospitalists in their practice and care of patients.

Requirements

Take the next steps to achieve your hospital medicine-specific certification.

To determine if a specialized Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program is right for you, review the requirements provided by your evaluation organization.

ABIM

Completion of the Focused Pracitice in Hospital Medicine MOC program identifies physicians as ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine with a Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine. The certificate will remain valid as long as you continue to meet the requirements of the MOC Program.
