SHM's State of Hospital Medicine Survey

The State of Hospital Medicine (SoHM) Survey takes a snapshot of what is happening in hospital medicine groups around the country. The results provide critical information for groups to make informed decisions about practice structure, scheduling, compensation plans and more in the biennial State of Hospital Medicine Report. New topics in the 2023 Survey include burnout and wellbeing and employee benefits and support.

We participate every time the survey is available. We find it extremely helpful when we are looking at the recruiting and retention of hospitalists, looking at the compensation is and knowing what is happening out there in the industry.

Roberta P. Himebaugh, MBA, SFHM

The State of Hospital Medicine Survey collects vital data that allows hospital medicine leaders to strengthen the backbone of care delivery. By coming together as a community through organizations like SHM, we can tap into our peers’ collective knowledge and experience, amplifying our ability to serve and advocate for hospitalists.

Romil Chadha, MD, FACP, MBA, MPH, SFHM

The State of Hospital Medicine Report is the must have resource for any practice leader, scheduler, job seeker, or hospital executive. Our multi-site practice depends on the report’s rich data and broad scope to shed light on key decisions on a weekly basis.
