The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) is a medical society comprised of hospitalists that exists to promote exceptional care for hospitalized patients.
It’s never too soon to become a member of SHM. As a resident member, you will receive access to many SHM programs, resources and services that will help you advance your skills toward specialization in hospital medicine.

SHM’s Learning Portal hosts free courses for resident members such as “Teamwork and Communication,” “Organizational Knowledge and Leadership Skills” and “Patient Safety Tools and Principles.”
