Conferences of Interest

About

As hospital medicine is a broad and diverse topic, continuing medical education (CME) and training opportunities continue to expand for hospitalists. SHM compiles an ongoing list of recommended, hospital medicine-specific programs that we find to be of value to our members. The CME opportunities listed below are sponsored by other organizations.

Additional Hospitalist-Specific Live and Virtual Education Opportunities

With the growth of the hospital medicine specialty, education and training opportunities continue to expand for hospitalists. In addition to SHM’s conferences, various organizations host CME and non-CME events that are relevant to our membership. Review the list below of upcoming SHM conferences of interest.

June 12-14, 2026 | University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Aurora, CO

The 2026 Boot Camp will be led by a faculty of more than 15 experienced delirium researchers, who collectively have expertise in everything from animal models, biomarkers, epidemiology, clinical trials, implementation science, artificial intelligence, and statistical methods (and their application to research in the clinical settings where delirium is most frequently encountered). The Boot Camp is all about junior researcher mentorship and engagement: program highlights include interactive didactic sessions on a broad range of topics, mock-NIH study sections, formal (and informal) networking and mentorship sessions!

Other things to note:

  • International (i.e. non-USA) applications are encouraged
  • Some mentee travel costs will be covered by the program; travel support will be provided on a needs-based approach
  • While mentee research proposals must evaluate delirium as an outcome, this can be a secondary outcome (delirium does not necessarily have to be the sole focus of the project)
  • 2026 Boot Camp proposals do not necessarily have to be focused on ADRD as an outcome

Application Deadline: April 6, 2026
