When you join SHM during your residency training, you receive access to programs, resources and opportunities that will enhance your skills and raise your professional profile.
When I joined as a resident, it was a great way to get plugged in to the hospital medicine community and to figure out what people were doing beyond my own institution.

SHM’s Special Interest Groups allow members to connect and collaborate with colleagues and peers with shared interests and experiences in person and in the online discussion forum, the Hospital Medicine Exchange (HMX). Our Resident and Student Special Interest Group connects residents to each other and to members who can share their own experiences about this critical learning experience.
SHM’s Annual Conference offers an Early Career Hospitalist track to support the education and content needs of resident members. Learn from the best of the best in hospital medicine at the largest national conference on hospital medicine.
Your SHM membership includes membership in your local SHM chapter.
