The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) is a medical society comprised of hospitalists that exists to promote exceptional care for hospitalized patients.
A team of SHM members have curated this repository of resources on the prevention, analysis, and management of adverse events to help turn harm events into opportunities for improvement and to heal injured patients and colleagues. This information is intended for use by individual hospitalists, in medical education, or by health systems.
These resources have been divided into the following four subtopics covering the complete spectrum from prevention to resolution and including a variety of materials such as: an overview, executive summary (downloadable PDF), links to training videos, guides, and other resources, key literature, organizations working in the field, and training opportunities.
