Get Recognized for Exceptional Achievements in Hospital Medicine

SHM offers members a variety of opportunities to be honored for outstanding work in all areas of hospital medicine.

Awards of Excellence: SHM’s Awards of Excellence program honors members with exemplary contributions to hospital medicine in various categories.
Fellow in Hospital Medicine Designation: Fellows designations are awarded at three levels and recognize dedication to the hospital medicine specialty.
Chapter Awards: SHM recognizes outstanding chapters that demonstrate growth and innovation in their chapter activities.
SHM’s Hospital Medicine Scholarship Fund: This fund is made possible by our Keystone Sponsor, Vituity and Visionary Sponsor, Sound Physicians. SHM will award $25,000 medical education scholarships to two third-year medical students from an underrepresented group in medicine who have demonstrated an interest in pursuing a career in hospital medicine as well as a commitment to health equity and improving care for underserved communities.

Junior Investigator Award: Early-stage investigators with research interests focused on care of hospitalized patients, organization of hospitals, or hospitalist practice are encouraged to apply for this award.
Research, Innovations & Clinical Vignettes (RIV) Competition: Compete with more than 1,600 applicants for approximately 900 poster spots to be displayed at SHM’s annual conference.
