The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) is a medical society comprised of hospitalists that exists to promote exceptional care for hospitalized patients.
SHM values our members’ contributions to the field of hospital medicine and wants to help them share their stories with the broader hospital medicine community. If you have a story idea or success that you would like to share with SHM and the hospital medicine community, this document provides options to help you get started.

If you feel your story is worthy of inclusion in one of SHM’s news- and opinion-centric publications, consider either The Hospitalist or The Hospital Leader blog.
The Hospitalist publishes articles about news, trends and issues in hospital medicine. Every story must present practical, usable information for the publication’s readers — material that is immediately helpful to them in their professional lives.

Physician Blog Editor Dr. Jordan Messler leads the blogging team and is supported by SHM staff. Dr. Messler has been integral to SHM’s online presence and has been blogging with SHM since 2008.
